In college when choosing a major I knew I wanted to focus on something that would allow me to serve my community in a positive way…I thought I could be in the political world and serve as a voice of my community and implement effective change through legislation. I took that desire and focused on a degree in political science. After working for 2 elected officials and working in that world, I quickly learned that it was not for me. My passion however remained. I learned there were other ways to serve my community just as effectively without being an elected. In grad school I found Public Administration and I knew that was my bridge between my passion and making it a career. My degrees have afforded me the opportunities to work with universities, private organizations, and state governments in the capacity of grants management and oversight.
