About Michael Lewchuk
Michael is the Data and Evaluation Scientist for the three 2018 GEAR UP projects. A Canadian Citizen with a background in the Earth Sciences he originally came to Oklahoma as a post-doc in the OU School of Geology and Geophysics in 1999. Additionally he has over 20 years of experience in college preparatory math and science instruction across both private and public sectors having taught a wide range of subjects at the High School level, including Geometry, Algebra I and II, Pre-calculus, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics, as well as Earth and Environmental Sciences, Biology, Physical Science, and Chemistry. He has a passion for fostering student belief in their own capability and potential. He obtained all three degrees in Canada and has had post-doc appointments in Canada, Denver, CO, Paris, France and at the University of Oklahoma. He also served for over a decade on the Board of Norman’s Jazz in June Festival, including as the two terms as their President.
