About Gregg Garn, Ph.D.

Dr. Gregg Garn Ph.D. is completing his 22nd year at the University of Oklahoma.  In May 2019, he became the Senior Associate Provost leading Online Learning for the Norman, HSC and Tulsa campuses.  The previous eight years he served as Dean of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education. Garn held the Humphreys Chair in Education and is a past recipient of the Linda Clarke Anderson Presidential Professorship. Garn is OU’s Faculty Athletic Representative for the Big12 and NCAA focused on student-athlete welfare and academic integrity. He also serves as the executive director of the K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal.

Garn received his bachelor’s degree in history and education from the University of Northern Iowa.  He received his master’s and doctoral degrees from Arizona State University. Garn is active in several national organizations, including the American Educational Research Association and the University Council for Educational Administration.  He is the current president of CADREI, the national College of Education Dean’s association. In 2017, Garn was recognized by the American Association of University Administrators with the McVittie emerging leader award.
