Alonna serves as the Science Curriculum Specialist for GEAR UP O+K=C. As a curriculum specialist, she spends her time working directly with teachers in OKCPS to implement authentic teaching practices and writing ready-to-use lessons for the K20 LEARN website. She has a passion for working with underserved populations and sharing her love of science with students. Her mission is to help provide teachers and students with the necessary resources to help students become scientifically literate citizens who understand the purpose of science in their lives. In her time as a teacher in Oklahoma City Public Schools, she taught life sciences and served as department chair.

Alonna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Science Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Education degree in Secondary Science Education from the University of Oklahoma.
