About Alex Holmes, M.Ed.

Alex Holmes is the GEAR UP for the FUTURE Lead Mentoring Coordinator at the K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal in Norman, Oklahoma. As the Lead Mentoring Coordinator, she works with a team of Mentoring Specialists to plan, organize, and facilitate career and peer-mentoring initiatives including Virtual Career Expos, Career Cafes, College2Career Forums, and Link Crew. These initiatives assist with creating accessibility and long-term sustainability for post-secondary readiness and opportunities for students. Prior to joining the K20 Center, Alex taught Third Grade for seven years, and additionally worked as an Elementary Mathematics Intervention Specialist, all in Norman Public Schools. She attended the University of Oklahoma receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and her Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum. Originally from Dallas, Holmes has lived in Norman since 2006. She and her husband, Jeff, enjoy traveling and spending time with their two sons, Cooper and Brooks. In her free time, Holmes also loves to paint and is a family photographer in the Norman/OKC metro area.
