INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

What We Are

An instructional designer (ID) offers support in a variety of ways. We help our subject matter experts (SMEs) from the beginning of their idea through the finalization of their project. Using a learner-focused and systematic approach, the ID can offer new ideas to achieve the instructional goals at the heart of a lesson or professional development workshop. An instructional designer serves as a collaborator, providing support for our SMEs to help bring their vision to fruition. The instructional designer often wears many hats: builder, designer, project manager, technology explorer, and supporter. Ultimately though, our primary goal is to be a partner through every step of the instructional design process.

What We Do

The Instructional Design (ID) Team works across all K20 GEAR UP grants and with stakeholders to refine and develop learning experiences for public schools across the state. As skilled instructional designers, we collaborate with subject matter experts to facilitate scope and vision, alignment to grant goals, and the development of quality learning experiences. Our aim is to provide new perspectives on how to design multiple and complex solutions to curricular projects.

We are here to support the development of your vision with a team that is diversely skilled in research, project management, tech integration, eLearning, and more. Formally trained in the principles and psychology of human learning, grounded in research and tested principles, we are well-prepared to understand your goals and ideas and help you bring the learning to life. Best practices are what guide our effort to continually evaluate “what works” and to construct meaningful learning experiences.
