About Danny Mattox, M.Ed.

Danny joined the K20 Center in 2015 on the GEAR UP for the PROMISE grant. Danny started his career in television, working at stations in Oklahoma, Indiana, and Georgia. As the operations director of a public access TV station in Atlanta, he saw the transformative power of education and developed a passion for it. He moved back home to Oklahoma, obtained a degree in science education from OU, and became immersed in the world of K-12 STEM education. Since getting his education degree, Danny has been a science teacher, project director for the GEAR UP for MY SUCCESS grant, and Head of Education at the Sam Noble Museum. Danny is now the Project Director of the Oklahoma Educational Technology Trust (OETT) Grants to Schools project. Each year, OETT funds technology grants to approximately 20 school districts across Oklahoma focused on authentic technology integration in the classroom. With Oklahoma roots dating back to the 1830’s and all his family currently living in the state, K20’s mission to improve education through innovation, partnerships and student engagement is near and dear to him.
