Professional Development
What We Do
The K20 Center has worked with schools in every Oklahoma county. Across the state, we have impacted over 1,400 schools, 2,500 administrators, 22,000 teachers, and over 300,000 students to improve instruction and student achievement in Oklahoma. Additionally, K20 provides professional development for teachers and leaders in Alaska and Hawaii. Our resources are used in all 50 states and in countries around the world.
K20 Professional Development is exclusively built on research-based strategies and presented by personnel who are former teachers and administrators. Our staff’s firsthand educational experience ensures viable classroom strategies partnered with a deep understanding of participants’ needs and concerns. Each session is carefully evaluated and adjusted based upon participant feedback. Topics are customized to individual school needs. Additionally, these sessions fulfill requirements for Title I, Title II A, and Oklahoma Teacher and Leader Effectiveness.
K20’s professional development is formalized training with the explicit goal of increasing teacher content or pedagogy knowledge and/or improving instructional practices. To be considered high quality professional development, this training must have a positive and lasting impact on classroom instruction and teacher performance. Our professional development programming aligns to state academic standards and is regularly evaluated. Additionally, we aim to increase teachers’ knowledge of subject matter and to advance teachers’ understanding of research-based instructional strategies.

“I love that most of the strategies K20 PD shows us require no money–they take time, but they don’t require any huge financial investment, so we could go back and start implementing these tomorrow.”
