From the supporting literature, there is no consistency in the orientation of windows. However, the design of windows that maximize daylight was supported by many researchers. The quality of classroom is measured by its design features and or use features. The orientation of windows that maximize natural lighting reduces energy consumption. Blocking elements should be away from lighting source.

Outdoor Areas

From the supporting literature, it was noted that healthy environment for learning promotes the creation and improvement of outdoor spaces for learning and other outdoor activities. Outdoor areas used as learning spaces and other outdoor activities enhance students health, behavior, and academic performance.

Functional Areas

From the supporting literature, providing convenient drop-off areas increases school-to-home travels. The separation between car and bus entrance and exit is necessary. It was also noted that the designed driveway and drop-off areas should avoid congestion and provide safe access for roads or streets.
