Designed for new teachers or experienced teachers who want additional classroom supports, the TIME courses are designed to give you the tools needed for engaging classes where students feel safe and included and are eager to learn.

The Build-A-Badge series of courses are based on the K20 Center’s most popular instructional strategies. Choose any sequence of three courses to earn a micro-credential or complete all five courses for a distinguished micro-credential.

Our flagship series based on the K20 Center’s ADEPT Live summer workshop. This sequence of six courses is meant to be completed over the course of an entire school year and focuses on teaching using the four components of authenticity. Core content teachers only.

The Beyond Basics series focuses on pushing experienced educators into new territory. Designed to be completed after the Learning ADEPT courses, these courses contain complex educational products to submit for evidence.

Teaching and Instruction to Maximize Engagement (TIME)
The K20 Center’s TIME courses are designed to help you with classroom management, student engagement, and student assessment. These classes are designed to stand on their own, but complement each other when completed together. Earn a $200 stipend for completing each course!
Courses offered:
- Classroom Procedures and Rules
- Master the art of establishing and maintaining effective classroom procedures to create an orderly and productive learning environment.
- Classroom Culture
- Learn techniques to develop a positive classroom culture that fosters student engagement and relationship building.
- Exit Strategies
- Explore instructional strategies to effectively wrap up lessons and formatively assess students’ understanding of content.
Build-A-Badge
The K20 Center’s Build-A-Badge courses are designed to let you put together a collection of strategies you want to use in your classroom. Complete a minimum of three classes to earn your micro-credential. These classes are half the length of traditional micro-credential courses and you can earn a $100 stipend for completing each course!

- Build reflections that are easy to understand but allow for rich responses.
- Commit and Toss
- Give students the opportunity to answer anonymously in a fun activity.
- Fold the Line
- Pair students by knowledge of content to foster productive discourse..
- I Notice, I Wonder
- Help students develop observational skills and learn how to ask meaningful questions.
Learning Authenticity and Discourse for Engagement using Pedagogy and Technology (Learning ADEPT Badge)
The K20 Center’s Learning ADEPT Badge is a series of six courses that explores authentic teaching practices. These courses may be completed individually, but are intended to be completed as a series. Each course offers engaging content to transform your teaching and help you increase student engagement. Earn a stipend for completing each course for a total of up to $1,700!

- How People Learn ($200 stipend)
- Develop an understanding of the cognitive processes that occur during learning and how these processes interact with the K20 Center’s Authenticity Framework.
- K20 Research Academy ($300 stipend)
- Learn how to use the K20 Center’s research tools to track student engagement and create evidence of your teaching practices. You’ll also learn about the 5E lesson model.
- Construction of Knowledge ($300 stipend)
- Explore the importance of higher-order thinking and linking prior knowledge to new knowledge.
- Inquiry-Based Learning ($300 stipend)
- Practice productive discourse and develop meaningful questions for use in your classroom.
- Student-Centered Learning ($300 stipend)
- Investigate the importance of culturally responsive environments and elevating student voice and choice.
- Real-World Connections ($300 stipend)
- Identify skills that students gain when they connect real-world experiences to their learning.
Beyond Basics
The K20 Center’s Beyond Basics courses are built for teachers looking for a challenge. They are designed to support teachers with higher-level concepts and create meaningful lessons and projects that teachers can use for years to come. Earn a $200 stipend for completing each course!

- Multidisciplinary Lessons
- Collaborate with other education professionals to develop lessons that extend beyond your classroom.
What will I do?
- Complete approximately 90 minutes of online instruction.
- Submit video evidence demonstrating your application of the content in your teaching practices.
