Teaching and Instruction to Maximize Engagement (T.I.M.E.)

The K20 Center’s T.I.M.E. courses are designed to help you with classroom management, student engagement, and student assessment. These classes are designed to stand on their own, but complement each other when completed together. Earn a $200 stipend for completing each course!

Courses offered:
  • Classroom Procedures and Rules
    • Master the art of establishing and maintaining effective classroom procedures to create an orderly and productive learning environment.
  • Classroom Culture
    • Learn techniques to develop a positive classroom culture that fosters student engagement and relationship building. 
  • Exit Strategies
    • Explore instructional strategies to effectively wrap up lessons and formatively assess students’ understanding of content.

Learning Authenticity and Discourse for Engagement using Pedagogy and Technology (Learning ADEPT Badge)

The K20 Center’s Learning ADEPT Badge is a series of six courses that explores authentic teaching practices. These courses may be completed individually, but are intended to be completed as a series. Each class offers engaging content to transform your teaching and help you increase student engagement.  Earn a stipend for completing each course for a total of up to $1,700!

Courses offered:
  • K20 Research Academy ($300 stipend)
    • Learn how to use the K20 Center’s research tools to track student engagement and create evidence of your teaching practices.
  • How People Learn ($200 stipend)
    • Develop an understanding of the cognitive processes that occur during learning and how these processes interact with the K20 Center’s Authenticity Framework.
  • Construction of Knowledge ($300 stipend)
    • Explore the importance of higher-order thinking and linking prior knowledge to new knowledge.
  • Inquiry-Based Learning ($300 stipend)
    • Practice productive discourse and develop meaningful questions for use in your classroom.
  • Student-Centered Learning ($300 stipend)
    • Investigate the importance of culturally responsive environments and elevating student voice and choice.
  • Real-World Connections ($300 stipend)
    • Identify skills that students gain when they connect real-world experiences to their learning.

What will I do?

  • Each course is approximately 90 minutes of online instruction.
  • Submit video evidence demonstrating your application of the content in your teaching practices.
