Oklahoma Achievement through Collaborations & Technology Support (OK-ACTS) is the first phase of
the K20 Center’s five-phase model for school transformation: Leaders Learning.

Leadership Seminar (OK-ACTS/Phase I)
The three-day Leadership Seminar brings together head superintendents and principals to learn from the K20 Center and from each other. The IDEALS (Inquiry, Discourse, Engagement, Authenticity, Leadership, and Student-Centered Learning Climate) framework serves as the research base for the seminar. Attendees learn skills to promote authentic integration of technology and build strong professional learning communities at their schools. Leadership Seminar expands leaders’ technology skills and creates a collaborative network in which participants and K20 professionals collaborate, problem-solve, and work together toward systemic change.

Nearly 3,000 administrators from all 77 Oklahoma counties have participated in the Leadership Seminar (OK-ACTS/Phase I). Upon completion, head principals and superintendents are eligible to apply for an Oklahoma Educational Technology Trust (OETT) grant, which awards individual schools and/or district sites up to $50,000 for education-targeted technology (granted by OETT) and $50,000 of professional development (provided by the K20 Center and OK-ACTS). Each participant in Leadership Seminar receives a Chromebook for use in their school district. In addition, attendees receive extensive training on classroom technology options and integration methods. Leaders receive the tools, strategies, resources, and vision to initiate major improvements in student learning, teacher learning, and classroom technology.

Registration is $600 for the head principal or superintendent, which is the preferred audience for OK-ACTS. Other school and/or district leaders may attend with a registration cost of $1,500 per person. In addition to three days of professional learning and networking opportunities, participants receive a Chromebook and two free registrations to the K20 Center’s annual Innovative Learning Institute (ILI).
