About Lindsay Williams, Ph.D.

As the Project Director for GEAR UP for the FUTURE, Lindsay coordinates staff, evaluators, and researchers in planning, organizing, communicating, and monitoring evidence-based services with school and community partners to ensure that they are aligned to specified project and grant outcomes. Her mission is to support college and career awareness, readiness, and access in nine districts in the greater OKC metropolitan area including Putnam City, El Reno, Guthrie, Shawnee, Santa Fe South, Noble, and Lawton. Lindsay leads a team of dedicated professionals who provide opportunities to the teachers, communities, and students of these schools to help increase awareness of post-secondary opportunities, promote authentic classroom environments, and raise post-secondary enrollment rates. Before working for GEAR UP as a Site Facilitator at Frederick A. Douglass Mid-High, and then as a Professional Development Coordinator, Lindsay was Social Studies Department Chair and taught History, Government, and Geography at Northeast Academy for Health Sciences and Engineering in Oklahoma City. In 2021, Lindsay completed her Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum, and as a first-generation college graduate, knows first hand the empowerment and opportunity obtaining a college degree can yield. She has presented at local, state, and national conferences across the US, including California, New York, Washington, D.C, Alaska, and Hawaii, and had the opportunity to write and teach Social Studies curriculum at St. Monica’s School for Women and Girls in Gulu, Uganda.
