About Lindsay Williams, Ph.D.
As the Project Director for GEAR UP the METRO, Lindsay coordinates planning, organizing, communicating, and monitoring evidence-based services with school and community partners. Her mission is to support college and career awareness, readiness, and access in three districts in the greater Oklahoma City metro area, namely Oklahoma City Public Schools, Putnam City Public Schools, and ASTEC Charter School.
Lindsay leads a team of dedicated professionals who provide opportunities to the teachers, communities, and students of these schools. She and her team increase awareness of postsecondary opportunities, promote authentic classroom environments, and raise postsecondary enrollment rates. Previous to her role as a Project Director on GEAR UP the FUTURE, she was a Professional Development Coordinator, and a GEAR UP Site Facilitator at Frederick A. Douglass Mid-High for GEAR UP for the PROMISE. Before working for GEAR UP Lindsay was a high school Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair and taught history, government, and geography.
In 2021, Lindsay completed her doctorate in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum with an emphasis in Social Studies. As a first-generation college graduate, she knows the empowerment and opportunity that obtaining a college degree can yield.
