About Lindsay Hawkins, M.Ed.
Lindsay Hawkins serves as the K20 Center’s GEAR UP for MY SUCCESS project by creating and facilitating authentic learning experiences through various methods of professional development for the cohort’s educators across the 23 districts. All learning experiences are customized to support the needs identified by individual school data. She began working with the K20 Center in May 2016 serving as the Professional Development Writer and Editor for GEAR UP for the PROMISE. As a classroom teacher, she previously taught 6th grade, 7th grade, and Pre-Algebra mathematics at Walnut Grove Middle School in Midlothian, Texas. She also served as a Mathematics Resource Specialist at Eisenhower Elementary School in Norman, Oklahoma, and taught 6th grade in Fallbrook, California. In 2018, she received a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum with an emphasis in Mathematics, and in 2005, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Oklahoma. Lindsay was born and raised in Norman and is ‘Sooner Born and Sooner Bred’. Military life kept Lindsay and her husband, Jon, moving between Oceanside, California, and Oklahoma. Then settled to reside in Waxahachie, Texas once Jon retired from the USMC. After three years in Texas, they made the move back to Norman, returning home. Lindsay has two children, Jackson (13) and Madi (10). In her free time, Lindsay enjoys coaching fastpitch, doing yard work, and supporting her children’s committed involvement in The Sooner Theater, baseball, and softball.
