About Lacy Pennington, M.HR.

Lacy serves as the Lead Student Experiences Coordinator for GEAR UP for MY SUCCESS at the University of Oklahoma’s K20 Center. She have worked in higher education for fourteen years in a variety of facets, including financial aid, admissions, and career services. The Lead Student Experiences Coordinator is responsible for coordinating team members from across grants in order to implement project goals and objectives. A large part of this role includes exposing students to the different types of post-secondary options by organizing large-scale field-trips to college and career tech campuses and develop engaging college and career curriculum. She previously served as the Parent and Community Coordinator for a previous GEAR UP urban grant at the K20 Center. She is a first generation college graduate, growing up in rural Oklahoma and have completed a bachelors and masters degree program. In addition to my role with the GEAR UP, she also serves as the co-chair for the K20 Center’s annual professional development conference, Innovative Learning Institute, she is the co-chair of the Social & Service Committee, and a member of the Professional Learning Committee.
