About Danny Mattox, M.Ed.

Danny started his career in television, working at stations in Oklahoma, Indiana, and Georgia. He saw the transformative power of education when he was teaching TV production to the general public in Atlanta, and developed a passion for it. From there, he moved back home to Oklahoma, got a degree in science education from OU, and became immersed in the world of STEM education. Before joining the K20 Center in 2015 as a curriculum writer, he was a middle school science teacher. He has worn many hats in his time at the K20 Center, and he is currently the Project Director of the GEAR UP for MY SUCCESS grant. MY SUCCESS serves students in 23 rural school districts across Oklahoma and is focused on increasing the number of low-income rural students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. With roots and all his family in rural Oklahoma, GEAR UP’s mission is near and dear to him.
