About Brittany Bowens, M.Ed.

Brittany Bowens serves the OKC Science Curriculum Specialist for GEAR UP O+K=C grant at the K20 Educational and Community Center. As a curriculum specialist she works alongside teachers in the OKC metro to incorporate authentic teaching within the classroom through research-based instructional practices. She also aids in developing science curriculum to assist Oklahoma teachers with implementing the Oklahoma Academic Standards. Her passion is to help nurture educators’ love for teaching along with providing students with the tools they need to be successful through an innovative and engaging format. Prior to joining K20, Bowens spent over 9 years as a high school science teacher for the Putnam City and Moore Public School districts. Bowens and her husband, Milton, a former educator and current Curriculum Coordinator for Chickasha Public School, have three(four) children: Zarria, Elise, Jeremiah, and Rooster(dog). She enjoys spending time with family, church family, and friends. She also loves dancing, baking, adventures to discover anything new, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
