About Brittany Bowens, M.Ed.

Brittany Bowens serves as the Curriculum & Instruction Coordinator for the GEAR UP for LIFE grant and as LEARN Chair at the K20 Educational and Community Center. In her role as C&I Coordinator, she collaborates with teachers across various districts in Oklahoma to promote authentic teaching in the classroom through research-based instructional practices. She also supports curriculum development and other resources to assist Oklahoma teachers in implementing the Oklahoma Academic Standards and professional development initiatives. Her passion lies in nurturing educators’ love for teaching and equipping students with the tools they need to succeed through innovative and engaging formats. Before her current role, she served as the OKC Science Curriculum Specialist for the GEAR UP O+K=C grant for 3 years and one year as a Science Curriculum Writer for the Instructional Design Team at K20. Bowens also spent over nine years as a high school science teacher in the Putnam City and Moore Public School districts. Bowens and her husband, Milton, a former educator and current Curriculum Director for Chickasha Public School, have three children and dog, Rooster. She enjoys spending time with family, church family, and friends. She also loves dancing, baking, adventures to discover anything new, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
