About Amy Goodin, Ph.D.

Amy serves as the Director of Research and Evaluation at the University of Oklahoma’s K20 Center. She has worked in higher education for more than 20 years in a variety of roles, including serving as the Associate Director of Research at the University of New Mexico Institute for Public Policy, Director of the University of Oklahoma Public Opinion Learning Laboratory, and as an Instructor in the Department of Political Science. In her various roles, Amy has utilized multiple research tools in the quantitative and qualitative domains ranging from survey research across multiple modes to focus groups, face to face interviewing, town hall meetings, and citizen conferences. In her current role, Amy is responsible for research and evaluation across grant programs to assess outcomes pertaining to project goals and objectives, as well as disseminating information about the efficacy of the programs implemented at the K20 Center. Amy is driven by her passion for understanding what shapes people’s attitudes and beliefs as well as assessing how to best apply the information to provide insights valuable for program development and evaluation. At a broader level, Amy believes it is critical to focus on the construction of knowledge and the development of critical thinking skills to help people better navigate the world around them.
