Speaking from my personal and famliy experience only, I would say that Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City (obviously in Oklahoma City, OK) is one of the best programs in the state (at least as far as 2 year programs go). After that, it would probably be the University of Oklahoma's Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, OK or Oklahoma State University's Health Science Center in Tulsa, OK.My mom was in the third graduating class at Oklahoma State University in Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) which was an AS in Nursing. Several years later, she got into the University of Oklahoma's Health Science Center program to get her BS in Nursing.I'm not sure if Oklahoma City University or the University of Central Oklahoma even have nursing programs, but Southern Nazarene University (in Bethany, OK) and Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, OK may also have nursing programs because they are private colleges. As far as competition goes, I do know that you have to take at least one semester of regular classes at OSU-OKC before you can be accepted into their nursing program. But, on the same hand, if you have good scores and attendance and such, I never heard about many people being refused entirely from the program. Also, the advantage of going to a 2 year university and getting your RN as an Associates of Science means that you can go directly to work as an RN, then work your way through your Bachelors of Science while still earning a living from being an RN. Just a thought although I didn't go in to nursing, I did a similar thing when I was in college, getting my 2 year degree then working through getting my 4 year degree.I would suggest that you write, call, or email the nursing departments at the various school in the areas you might like to live and have them send you information on their programs. Most of the staff members are very helpful and more than willing to answer questions about their programs. Also, last but not least, Oklahoma is a relatively economical place to live so long as you have a car. We technically have a public transportation system, but it's much more of a joke than functional. As far as rent goes, you'd be looking at between $350-500, depending on what kind of place you were willing to settle for. Of course, there ARE places more expensive than that, if that is your kind of thing.I'll include a couple of links for OSU-OKC's nursing program, as well as a link to the Daily Oklahoman's classified section so you can sort of browse cost of living issues.Hope that helps! Good luck to you!!!-mk

I am a CNA student right now and am chooisng to become certified as a way to build up my credentials before applying to nursing school next year. CNAs deserve so much more recognition and pay for what they do. For those who have been enrolled in nursing school or are already RNs (who are not CNAs), exposure to a nursing home would make you a better nurse in you haven't seen one or worked in one before. It is tough, and the nurses are expected to maintain a smile throughout the entire shift. The difference in the dynamic of a nursing home compared to an acute care facility is striking, really.GD Star Ratingloading...

Yes, like the previous aswenr to your question, you can. You can get your ASSOCIATES DEGREE in Nursing, then take your NCLEX-RN board exam and become licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN). Once you get your RN license, you have many opportunities to work all over the world and travel. I, myself, am a Registered Nurse (RN) and very pleased with my work. Hope this helps!

I would look into local hospitals and/or nusnrig homes to see if they have some sort of brief CNA training. One of the nusnrig homes by me have a 2-week training course and then you are hired as a f/t CNA. I am not sure if you previous experience with nusnrig classes will advance you in any way in that training but it's worth a shot. Otherwise, you might be able to obtain this during a winter break of some sort.

Strange that the media isn't talking about this uuusnal situation: Danielle is STILL a hurricane located east of New Foundland and is projected to circle back toward North America. I work in a hospital and I wear surbcs as well. At first all I had to wear were the surbcs that my boss gave me. I never wore them, I went straight to the store and bought some colorful, comfortable surbcs. I went to Mark's Work Warehouse and they have pretty much everything. And I like the pants that have a flared leg to them. Very stylish. And for tops just pick out different patterns that you like. If you like butterflies, get a colorful top that is covered in butterflies. Where I work a lot of people where like Sponge Bob Square Pants or Winnie the Pooh surbcs and I think if you work around kids a lot that it really makes them happy. I know my daughters just love it. Hope this helped. Good Luck.

Just always make extra efortfs with your hair and makeup! And if you can wear jewellery, then check the web to find the latest trends, and you can look fashionable and stylish, even in scrubs! My fave site for trendy jewellery is ASOS, it's quite cheap and always has amazing accessories. Obviously you can't go o.t.t with makeup, but just emphasize your best features. And there are plenty of elegant up-do's you can experiment with.Good luck!

Because so many people deualft on their student loans, the government is very hesitant to give them out to people declaring bankruptcy. Bankruptcy is a legal way of deualfting on your loans to get out of paying them. I'm surprised you got a car loan, but I bet your interest rate is much higher than someone who didn't claim bankruptcy.

Perhaps you should ciseodnr majoring in healthcare administration. If you are good, it's possible to advance all the way up to president at a hospital. If I'm not mistaken, this requires at least a master's degree.Nursing school is extremely rigorous and time-consuming. Schools make their programs tough (admission and throughout the program) to ensure only the very best candidates will make it through their program to take the NCLEX. In the programs in my area, numbers of students accepted through graduation is roughly cut by 50% from beginning to end. Honestly, I wouldn't go for a business degree. To me, it's kind of like a psychology degree. no offense. At least with nursing, you can become an extern after your first official semester of nursing classes (actual nursing classes; not pre-reqs) making way more than minimum wage. Plus, another upside is the fact that the hospitals that hire externs use this as a recruitment tool. (Basically, if you are offered position as an extern..you will probably be offered a job there as a new grad RN.)That can offer you some job security!!! And, it's great experience for clinicals!

You might check out the site that I've listed.Go to the snutedt loan forum and do some reading. You might be able to get some ideas on what to do. If you cannot find what you are looking for, post your question. Someone may be able to give you some suggestions. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. I go to the creditboards forums every day, for credit related reading/learning. But I usually go to other forums than the snutedt loan forum.
